Term System

Lessons are offered in three terms (fall, winter, and spring). This simplifies the payment process by asking the student to purchase a whole terms worth of lessons, three times a year. Each terms rate reflects the cost of our 1/2 hour lesson fee for that time period. Payment is by term, please see the fee schedule

If space allows, you may begin lessons mid-term and the fee will be pro-rated.

If you do not wish to commit immediately to a full term, One trial lesson can be offered.

Cancellation policy

24 hours notice must be given if a student intends to cancel. If less notice is given, the student will be charged for the lesson and no make up lesson will be honoured. Emergency situations will of course be considered and the student will be entitled to a make-up lesson. An emergency would be defined as sudden illness, sudden injury, death in the family etc. IF YOUR CHILD DID NOT GO TO SCHOOL DUE TO ILLNESS, THEN PLEASE CANCEL THEIR LESSON IN THE MORNING. WE SEE A LOT OF STUDENTS AND DO NOT WANT TO BE CARRIERS. A MAKE-UP WILL BE GRANTED The phone number to call is 217-2316.

Teacher Cancels
If the teacher is unable to make the originally scheduled lesson, they are required to make up the lesson. If for some reason this is not possible a credit will be issued and you will pay for one lesson less in the following term or a cash refund will be issued.

Adverse Weather
If the teacher deems it to be unsafe to drive due to adverse weather conditions, spontaneous cancellation may occur. A make-up lesson will be granted; however a refund or credit will not be offered.

Make-up policy

Since the student load is so great, it is quite impossible to offer make-up lessons during the teaching week. Saturdays are no longer possible either. Instead 2 make-up sessions will be offered during the winter break, 2 sessions during spring break and 4 sessions during the summer break.
It is the responsibility of the student to book his/her make-up lesson(s). We will be keeping track of the outstanding lessons, so feel free to call if you are unsure of the number of make-ups you have credited.
All canceled lessons that have not been made up by the end of August will be forfeited.

Early Withdraw

If early withdraw from a term is necessary, the student must give two weeks notice and will then be reimbursed for the remaining lessons. If no notice is given the student will be reimbursed less the equivalent monetary value of two lessons.

Lesson Requirements

To maximize the time with each student, we ask that...

• a private room be ready and available upon the teachers arrival.
• two armless chairs be set up.
• a music stand be set up,
• the students lesson materials be present.
• the students guitar is present and preferably tuned.

Each student is required to have a 3 ring binder filled with regular lined paper, a music stand, and a guitar tuner. (please ask us if you need to purchase a stand or tuner).

If a particular lesson book is required, we will either supply it at the manufacturers suggested retail price, or we will inform you of as to where you can purchase it. We may instead recommend a copy of the book that we have been compiling from many sources. The fee for this would be $10.00.
